North Westfield ST Water Improvement Project
The Town of Agawam, MA in conjunction with Baltazar Construction, Inc. wish to inform the residents of Agawam, and surrounding communities, that water main construction activities will commence on Monday March 31, 2014 along North Westfield Street (RTE 187) from the intersection of North Street along North Westfield Street to the Agawam/Westfield Town line. The construction activities will occur between the hours of 7 AM to approximately 4 PM Monday through Friday on non-holiday workdays. These construction activities will last through out the 2014 construction season concluding in November 2014, see section at bottom of page for updates.
There will be traffic delays during these periods. To avoid these traffic delays it may be beneficial to find alternate routes around the construction. Detours have been setup to assist motorists. The primary/truck detour will require motorist to utilize North West Street between Southwick Street and North Westfield Street. The secondary detour, for local residents, will utilize North Street Ext. between North Street and North West Street. Please take precautionary measures to limit any unnecessary traveling along North Westfield Street during this period. This is for your safety as well as those of the construction workers.

Daily Traffic Update - 7/07/14
We will be detouring traffic on N. Westfield Street (open to local traffic only) between North Street Ext. and N. West Street to accommodate the installation of the new water main . The detour will be in place daily during the working hours of 7 AM to approximately 4PM, with the road reopened every night and weekend for two-way traffic.

All streets north of Oriole need to travel north to the North Westfield Street detour. There will be a detail officer stationed in each work zone to handle alternating one lane traffic (local traffic).
