The Town Clerk’s Office is responsible for maintaining all the Town’s official records and documents. The Clerk’s Office exercises responsibility for the operation of all
elections and maintains voter records. Yearly licensing for Class I and Class II Car Dealer’s, Automatic Amusement Devices, Weekly Amusement, Junk Dealer’s,
Liquor Licenses and Gas Storage permits are all issued through the Clerk’s Office. Meetings are posted for the public both in the Clerk’s Office and on the community
board outside. Marriage intentions can be filed and marriage licenses obtained, along with certified copies of births and deaths. The Clerk’s Office also issues business certificates and conducts the yearly census.

Procedure to obtain a marriage license in Massachusetts:
You must apply in person and together to file the intention of marriage. This can be done in any town or city clerk's office in any community in the state of Massachusetts.
There is a mandatory three (3) day waiting period, not counting the day the intention is filed.
A marriage license, once obtained, is valid for sixty (60) days from the date the intention is filed and may be used in any city or town in Massachusetts.
The fee of $20.00 in Agawam, Massachusetts pays for the marriage certificate and certified copy.
Your must know the full names of parents including mother's maiden name and the correct spelling.
You must present a document with your name and social security number. This could be:
1.) Social security card
2.) Drivers license
3.) Health card
4.) Pay stub
5.) Tax form
