Agawam to Host Visioning Workshop on Economic Development
The Town of Agawam will host a Visioning Workshop on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 to gather input from residents and business owners to assist town officials in determining future goals for economic development. The workshop will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Agawam Senior Center located at 954 Main Street, Agawam, MA. Interested participants are asked to RSVP for the workshop by calling the Agawam Planning Department at (413) 786-0400, extension 245 or via e-mail at email@example.com.
Residents will be asked to help identify top priorities for retail, commercial, and industrial development for the community. Information gathered at the workshop will be used as guidance for the town’s Economic Development Plan, which is currently under development.
The Pioneer Valley Planning Commission will also present the results of the Retail Preference Survey recently completed by Agawam residents. In addition, a representative from the Dukakis Center for Urban and Regional Policy at Northeastern University will present the results of the Economic Development Self-Assessment Tool undertaken as part of the Economic Development Study. The Self-Assessment Tool analyzes Agawam’s ability to promote commercial and industrial development.
