The Agawam Public Library is pleased to have Carl Beane, “The Voice of Fenway Park”
display his fascinating collection of sports memorabilia in the double glass cases and the Johnson Memorial case for the month of September. This display will be on exhibit starting on the 6th.
There will be hockey sticks from Gordie Howe, Patrick Roy, Bobby Orr and others given to Carl by the players themselves. From Carl’s collection of baseball items, there will be caps from Manny Ramirez, Dice-K, Dustin Pedroia, Cal Ripkin Jr., Ted Williams (when he managed the Washington Senators), and Derek Jeter. In addition, added attractions will be papers and memorabilia. Other items in the display will be jerseys from Wade Boggs, Kevin Garnett and Tom Brady.
Carl is a native of Agawam now residing in Holland, MA. He has been in the radio broadcasting profession since 1972. Presently, Beane is an independent contractor with ESPN Radio, WBZ, in Boston, WFAN in NYC, Sirius NFL Radio Satellite Network, and the Mighty 1090 in San Diego, Calif. all utilizing his services as a field reporter. Since 1977, he has covered the Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots, Celtics, and Boston Red Sox as the voice of Fenway Park in 2003, and was behind the microphone in 2004 and 2007 when the Boston Red Sox won the World Series.
