TOWN OF AGAWAM
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY: PUBLIC MEETING & FORUM
The Town of Agawam will be holding a public meeting to discuss its FY2012 Community Development Strategy. The discussion will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2011, during the Planning Board’s 7:00 PM meeting at the Public Library, 750 Cooper Street. A public forum will be held at 6:00PM in the same location to discuss the Strategy informally with members of the general public.
The Community Development Strategy identifies the Town’s community development priorities and is used as a supportive document in seeking funds through the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development’s Community Development Block Grant program. Current priorities include housing rehabilitation, improvements to sidewalk networks, economic development, and planning for accessibility improvements to Town facilities. The strategy also establishes target areas for grant assistance and prioritizes specific projects for which funding may be sought. Any person having questions or comments will have an opportunity to be heard.
