The Agawam Public Library is pleased to present the program: “Five Minutes at Gettysburg,” presented by Wendell Haire on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at 7:00 p.m.
The Battle of Gettysburg was the largest battle of the Civil War, which lasted three days and claimed over 50,000 casualties from both the Union and the Confederacy. Haire believes that the outcome of the fighting of Gettysburg was determined by certain events, that though seemingly insignificant in nature, led to the Union victory. Many of these events happened within the first five minutes or less during this battle.
