CRIME AND DRUG PREVENTION EVENT

On Tuesday, August 5, 2014 the residents of the Town of Agawam are
being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “31st Annual Nation Night Out” crime and drug prevention event.

National Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally the Agawam Police Department, will  involve  over  15,704  communities  from  all  50  states,  U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world.  In all, over 37.5 million people are expected to participate in “America’s Night
Out Against Crime”.

National Night Out is designed to…

Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness

Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts

Strengthen neighborhood spirit and Police-Community partnerships

Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back

 

 

AGAWAM NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
CRIME AND DRUG PREVENTION EVENT

This event will include free hot dogs, popcorn, beverages, a dance school presentation, face painting, and a number of other safety-oriented activities for both children and adults. Some of these activities will include proper installation of children’s car seats, free document shredding to help prevent identify theft, bicycle safety and a photo booth with child ID kits.

There will be a demonstration and an appearance by the Massachusetts State Police
Helicopter.

 

? The event will be headlined by Ray of Elvis at 7:30 p.m. in the Agawam High School
Auditorium.

 

? The Agawam Police Department, Agawam Fire Department, Massachusetts State Police, Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, Agawam Emergency Management, Army, Navy, Marines, and the U.S. Marshals Office will all have displays at this event, and will have representatives on hand to meet with community members.

CRIME AND DRUG PREVENTION EVENT

The Agawam Police Department have also partnered with private sector
businesses  that  focus  on  home  security  and  general  public  safety. These private sector community partners will be available to discuss home security and safety, pet and animal awareness and safety, and much more.  This will be Agawam’s second annual event and hope that is will be as successful as our first event was last year.

National Night Out is free to the public, so please join the Agawam
Police Department and our community partners for this fun and informative event for people of all ages
