LUNG CANCER SCREENING AND PREVENTION
YMCA of Greater Springfield Lung Cancer is the leading cause of cancer death for both men and women worldwide. Nearly 160,000 Americans die of lung cancer each year. This will discuss the risk factors associated with developing lung cancer, as well as screening and prevention methods. SPEAKER: Philip Glynn, MDDr. Glynn received his medical education from the University of Rome Medical School in Rome, Italy. He then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at St. Raphael’s Hospital in New Haven, CT, and completed his fellowship in Medical Oncology at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Dr. Glynn serves as Medical Director at Mercy Medical Oncology and the Sister Caritas Cancer Center and oversees all aspects of the oncology program. Prior to his role at Mercy Medical Center, Dr. Glynn maintained a private practice in Springfield for over 20 years. He is board-certified in Medical Oncology, Palliative Care and Hospice Medicine, and Internal Medicine.

This lecture series will offer important information on cancer risks, prevention, and early detection.Lectures will be held monthly and topics will vary each month. A question and answer session will conclude each lecture.
