Still 72 seats left for our
May 7th trip to New York City!
** Last updated 3 / 31 / 16 **.
The Agawam Cultural Council sponsors "Plan Your Own Day" bus trips to New York City twice a year. Our next trip (two buses traveling in tandem) is scheduled for Saturday, May 7th, 2016.
Buses each have restroom facilities and are usually Wi-Fi capable. Experience your choice of NYC activities such as museums, plays and other cultural events, street festivals, shopping, sight-seeing and more! A member of the Cultural Council acts as leader on each bus, and is available to help with information and suggestions.
Buses make five scheduled stops in Manhattan:
- The Metropolitan Museum of Art/ Central Park
- Rockefeller Center/ Radio City
- Times Square area/ Broadway TKTS Booth
- 34th Street/ Macy's ... and,
- South Street/ Seaport (another TKTS booth nearby, and walking distance to Chinatown/ Little Italy, Wall Street/ Trinity Church,
the Staten Island Ferry, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Ferries,
and the Viet Nam Memorial and 9/11 Memorial sites).
DEPARTURE TIMES/ LOCATIONS:
Buses depart the Roberta G. Doering School (formerly, the Agawam Middle School -- 68 Main Street, Agawam, Mass) from the parking lot in the rear of the building at 7:00 A.M.
( map - click "+" to zoom in )
Please arrive NO LATER than 6:45 A.M. Be sure to bring your ticket(s) with you!
If you are delayed or running late, please call one of the cellphone numbers shown on the back of your ticket.
The return trip departs from 6th Avenue and 54th Street ONLY (opposite the Hilton hotel) at 6:30 P.M. sharp, and arrives back in Agawam between 9:30 and 10:00 P.M.
Pickup time and location information is printed on the back of your ticket, along with phone contact info for the ACC representatives accompanying your trip.
PLEASE NOTE: We try to ensure that buses travel NON-STOP to and from the city in order to arrive by 10:00 A.M., for those scheduled to attend early morning events.
( Due to unpredictable traffic conditions in Manhattan, those hoping to visit the 9/11 Memorial and Museum should not seek ticketed entry scheduled before 11:30 A.M. )
Due to rising bus costs, we've had to raise the seat price to $40 per person.
This is a very popular trip, so ticket requests should be mailed as early as possible, once tickets become available.
PLEASE NOTE: Seats CANNOT be reserved by phone.
To secure your seat(s), unless you have been instructed to do
otherwise, please send a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your check made out to the "Agawam Cultural Council" to:
Agawam Cultural Council
153 Anthony Street
Agawam, MA 01001
IMPORTANT: We will be unable to return tickets to patrons who have not included a self-addressed stamped envelope. We appreciate your attention to this request.
Your tickets will be mailed to you shortly after receiving your check and SASE.
