Agawam Releases Local Permitting Guidebook
Agawam Mayor Susan Dawson announced the availability of the Town’s recently updated Agawam Permitting Guidebook, which provides useful information on all permits required in the community. “We want to provide the public with as much information as possible to make the permitting process easy to understand and as expeditious as possible” she said. “We want all those we work with to find us business cooperative and business friendly.”
The Guidebook is intended to provide a helpful tool for all wishing to initiate any construction project in the Town. It addresses both commercial and residential construction. The Guidebook was developed by the Town with assistance from the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission, using funds provided by the state. An earlier Guidebook had been prepared in partnership with the Agawam Chamber of Commerce.
The guidebook provides a listing of all permits required in the community, required fees, and detailed contact information for every municipal board or entity. The guidebook also provides several flowcharts for land use project review and approval, such as subdivisions, special permits, and variances.
A copy of the local Permitting Guidebook can be found on the Town’s website (here) or at the Planning and Community Development office in Town Hall.
