Agawam Addiction Resource Center

Press Release

The Agawam Mayor’s Office in conjunction with the Agawam Police Department and the Agawam School Department is pleased to announce that the Agawam Addiction Resource Center or AARC will be re-opening.  This is a meeting/forum that will be held at the Agawam Senior High School cafeteria every Wednesday night from 6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. starting March 7th 2012.

AARC is a drop in center, not a formal meeting and is open to the public.  The atmosphere will be relaxed and anonymous.  People will be able to come by the center, pick up brochures and materials about particular drugs.   Also information will be available on recovery methods and actually see what certain drugs look like.  People will be able to speak one on one with the School Resource Officer from the High School, DARE officers from the Elementary Schools, Middle School and Junior High School.  We will also be offering education for parents in drug and alcohol abuse recognition as well as how to help their child in getting help for these addictions.    Please feel free to visit.

For more information please contact School Resource Officer Robert Burke at 413-821-0619 or 413-726-9787.
