News and Updates

The Town of Agawam's Age and Dementia Friendly Working Group, with assistance from the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission, is gathering information from older adults and people who are providing care to older adults to participate in the 2020 Livable Community Survey. The survey results will be used to develop Community Assessment and Action Plan for making Agawam an Age and Dementia Friendly Community. The survey should take no longer than 20 minutes to complete, and all survey respondents who provide contact information will be included in a drawing for gift cards to Stop & Shop. The survey remains open!  Please consider taking this important survey by clicking here

Though the way in which we provide our services has changed in lieu of COVID19, our underlying mission and purpose has become more necessary than ever.

While you are busy fighting the spread of COVID19 through proper handwashing and other important methods of social distancing, know that the COA is working hard to come up with ways to help bring you together and engage your mind in virtual opportunities.

I want to strongly encourage all of you who have access to the internet through a computer, phone, tablet or other device to consider becoming more familiar with how to use it. Join facebook, peruse youtube, create an email and call your friends to tell them how to reach you. While COVID19 has us social distancing from one and other, we can utilize the resources available to us to find ways to reconnect. If you need help reach out to us, we will do what we can to help you navigate the technology.
