MAY 19, 2020 SPECIAL ELECTION
Agawam, MA, May 4, 2020 —
On May 19, 2020, a Special Election will be held to fill the vacant seat in the Massachusetts State Senate vacated by Donald Humason, Jr., Second Hampden and Hampshire District.
An absentee ballot can be requested if you feel sick or are uncomfortable going to a polling location. Applications can be obtained via the Agawam Clerk’s Website under “Election information.”
Voters are reminded that they should wear face coverings pursuant to the Governor’s order effective May 6, 2020. A face covering can include anything that covers your nose and mouth, including dust masks, scarves and bandannas. Social distancing should be observed at all times by remaining 6 feet away from others when you arrive at polling locations. Voters should be aware that they may be asked to “queue-up” to allow for social distancing. Hand sanitizer will also be available at all polling locations. All staff will be provided with gloves and masks to wear while at the polling location. Voters may wish to bring their own black sharpie marker to fill out their ballot, however markers will be provided.
Polls will be open from to 7:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.
