Agawam and Southwick – CARES Act 2020 CDBG
The Agawam City Council will conduct a remote Public Hearing on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 7:00PM in accordance with the Governor’s Order dated March 12, 2020 and in compliance with HUD’s CARES Act Flexibilities for CDBG Funds. The purpose of this hearing will be to consider a grant application to the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development in response to available funding through the CARES Act of 2020. The application will consider a Microenterprise assistance program for qualified commercial businesses in the towns of Agawam and Southwick. The grant may also pursue food pantry assistance for Southwick. Any proposed activity through this grant will be in response to COVID-19 in an allowable amount of not greater than $400,000 per community. The remote hearing will be live streamed on the Town of Agawam cable access channel.
Any person or organization will have an opportunity to comment for a five day period preceding the scheduled hearing.
