[ARCHIVED] Street Paving in Agawam

Beginning Tuesday, October 19, the Agawam Department of Public Works (DPW) will be performing Full Depth Reclamation activities on the following streets:

  • Monroe Street (Main Street to School Street)
  • Washington Avenue Extension (Ramah Circle South to Suffield Street)
  • Woodside Drive (#10 Woodside Drive to Samuel Street)
  • Samuel Street (Woodside Drive to Valentine Street)
  • Briarcliff Drive (Sunset Terrace to Hamilton Circle)
  • Sunset Terrace (Southwick Street to End)

Construction activities will include reclamation of the existing pavement, fine grading of the gravel road base and the installation of a new asphalt pavement surface.  The above list does not necessarily indicate the order in which the streets shall be reconstructed.  Work shall begin at 7:00 am each weekday morning, weather permitting.   Construction activities are expected to continue throughout October and possibly into early November.

Residents are asked not to park their cars on the above listed streets during the construction period.  The construction may cause traffic delays or detours so residents are encouraged to plan accordingly.  The DPW will do their best to insure residents who live on the above listed streets will be able to access their driveways during construction.

Please be aware that all construction schedule dates are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances such as inclement weather or necessary emergency work. Updates to the paving schedule and a copy of the Agawam Pavement Management Report can be found on the Town of Agawam website at http://www.agawam.ma.us/492/Pavement-Management

The DPW will make every effort to complete this work as quickly as possible.  If you have any questions, please contact us at (413) 821-0600.

Sincerely,

Mario Mazza
